Adsorption isotherm of 2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid (2,4-D) herbicide on soil high in organic matter (used in rice cultivation) from determined batch test. The effects of contact time, initial concentration were investigated. The adsorption equilibrium data were processed in accordance with three most widely used adsorption isoterms: Freundlich, Langmuir and Temkin isoterm models. The equilibrium data were best represented by Freundlich isoterm model, showing higher Kd values reveal that adsorption is strong. These results are related to the different content and nature of soil organic matter.
